UPDATE: Samsung’s just sent us the invite. It’s on, people… We’ll be there on the 3rd to bring you all the details.

Eyeing up that HTC One X? You might want to hold off for a couple of weeks. According to a leaked invite, Samsung is set to launch its next flagship product at a London event early next month. And we mean early. Is this the Galaxy S3 we’ve all been waiting for?

The leak comes courtesy of Dutch tech site Tweakers, who seems to have gotten hold of a copy of the above invite, which they’re claiming is legit. According to the documentation, Samsung’s hosting an event on May 3rd for journalists to ‘come and the next Galaxy’. Quick note before you get too excited: we’ve added the concept Galaxy S3 to the pic above.

Are these the Galaxy S3 specs?

There’s been no word as yet from Samsung to confirm the leak or to officially announce any such event, but that doesn’t mean this isn’t true: an announcement on the 3rd of May sits right in line with the expected time of the Galaxy S3’s arrival.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 is nearing release, and becoming the subject of more rumour and speculation every day as a result. Some of it’s believable, some of the leaks are complete tosh, but either way we can be fairly sure that it’s destined for launch soon. Samsung needs to come up with the goods to fight off some strong Android 4.0 offerings from HTC. Either way, keep your diary clear for May 3rd.

It’s a cool concept pic, but I don’t think they’ll make a phone with a screen that gets that close to the edge – fingers and thumbs gripping the phone are far too likely to accidentally click things.  Still excited to see what it looks like though.
