We’ve just been alerted to the existence of something amazing. Cat owners the world over always have one niggling thought in the back of their minds: ‘does my cat actually love me, or does it have all the families down my street wrapped round his little paw?’ Now you can actually find out…

Eyenimal is a 35g, 640×480 resolution camera with a microphone and 4GB of storage, which is designed to sit on your cat’s collar and film its day-to-day life. You know, because the internet doesn’t have enough cat videos.

Does he or she have any local feline friends? Do they have a second family that thinks it’s theirs? Do all the neighbouring cats have underground meetings about overthrowing humanity? All very normal, natural questions to want answered.

Eyenimal is the brainchild of frenchman Paolo Teixeira, who spent a bit too much time worrying about what his cat was up to during a spell of unemployment. One hefty loan later and Teixeira has a company dedicated to helping people with similar curiosities.

Check out the below video for an example of the kind of footage you can get from your unwitting experiment. Be warned, though: for every 2:55 of interesting pet footage you’ll probably have to wade through 50 hours of sleeping, preening and fur balls.
