We’ve all been crowding around our RSS feeds for the past few months trying to eke out drops of information about the Samsung Galaxy SIII, but if newly leaked specs are anything to go by, we needn’t have worried. Samsung’s about to knock it out of the park.
Now we should mention to start with that these ‘inside sources’ are normally to be taken with a pinch of salt, but here the source in question seems to have pinpointed a set of highly believable specs based on what we’d sort of guessed anyway. And then some.
What are we looking at? The Galaxy SIII will boast a 4.8-inch display with a full 1080p HD, Blu-Ray quality resolution; LTE 4G connectivity, a 2-Meg front-facing camera and a rear-mounted 8-Meg camera. The processor is reportedly the same 1.5GHz quad-core monster we reported on last week.

It’s all wrapped up in a ceramic case. That, ladies and gentlemen, is the recipe for a damn fine smartphone: one that’s going to take some beating from Apple, Microsoft and RIM. When we reviewed the Galaxy Nexus we declared that “Android just graduated,” but now if all this comes to pass for the Galaxy SIII, then Android might have just won.
