Lots of people are Windows die hards for various reasons, the unwillingness to change being one of the biggest. Windows 8 dual booting with Android 5 in a Tranformer style device at a <£500 price point would absolutely tear a hole in the iPad's marketshare. It would also send a huge warning shot across Acer's bow as they are still banking on netbooks for some reason forcing them to adapt to include touch screens thus diversifying the market in a slightly different direction sacrificing portability for battery life.To be perfectly honest im not even convinced windows 8 will work as it has the makings of a huge flop but Apple's big problem is they are Goliath fighting lots of Davids who between them can make many mistakes but try new ideas hoping eventually to find one that works however Apple only needs to make one to have huge problems with them relying on the iPad and iPhone for 72% of revenue.
