Want to get into PC gaming but don’t fancy getting to grips with keyboard and mouse controls? Flypad, a new iPhone app, may help you out by bridging the void between PC and casual gamers. Read on for the full details and video.

Flypad is available from iTunes for the iPhone and iPod Touch for free. Download that and then navigate your PC to the Flypad website to download the desktop client. Pair the two and you’re good to go.

Flypad essentially turns your iPhone into a Wii Wheel; the kind of motion control you expect to find on most iPhone games should now work with any PC driving game you throw at it. Onscreen there’s also a range of touch buttons – for braking and changing gear and the like – but that’s about all there is to it.

Razer’s Project Fiona: PC gaming meets the tablet

It’s a great idea, and one that’ll appeal to anyone with serious talent on mobile racing games that can’t get their head around keyboard control for PC titles.

The fact that Flypad works cross platform throws open a huge amount of possibilities. Using your phone to control Call of Duty? We wouldn’t recommend it, but it’s certainly possible.
