HTC Benelux has announced that it will launch an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich-equipped “Ice White” edition of the HTC Sensation on 1 March, and roll out Ice Cream Sandwich updates to all Sensation handsets at the same time.

The news, which comes courtesy of HTC’s Benelux PR firm – which Electricpig has since confirmed – means Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg-residing owners of the HTC Sensation, Sensation XL and Sensation XE will get the spanking new operating system in less than a month, bringing the likes of face unlock to the handsets. Fingers crossed, the rest of us in the UK with unlocked handsets will get the same update soon after: as ever, those who bought their phone through a network will likely have to wait for them to conduct their testin.

Of course, the HTC Sensation won’t be the first non-Nexus smartphone to get Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich: the Huawei Honor has that, er, honour, although you’ll have to move to China if you want to get your hands on one. We’ll just wait it out, we reckon.
