After a shaky week in which the WhatsApp Messenger app has had to stamp out various fires – including hoax chain letters and a possibly fatal app update – WhatsApp is back in the App Store.
As we reported, WhatsApp has had to combat a couple of security issues and faux messages of late. Certain nefarious types were demanding that users forward specific messages on to all of their contacts lest their user account be permanently closed.

Then the app was pulled from the App Store, in what many thought was a move by Apple as a security measure. The app’s return – version 2.6.9 – states that it’s added various ‘performance and crashfixes,’ which puts any such fears to rest.
