There seems to be no limit to what Star Wars creator George Lucas will let his characters appear in these days, so long as you’ve got the monies to make it happen. Case in point: this new Vodafone ad, starring none other than Yoda.

The Yoda-Voda ad is to highlight the network’s Red Box service, which allows anyone who’s just got a new mobile to avoid the rigmarole of transferring numbers from their old handset, by allowing the staff in store to do it for you.

And somewhere along the way, Mr Lucas has pocketed a fair amount of cash so that the small green one can appear. Unlike the recent run of PC World ads that, weirdly, alluded that Darth Vader is in charge of the chain, this isn’t an entirely cringeworthy use of the license.

It still begs the question, though: when will Lucas let his characters die? The ad below, you will check out:

    Who stores their contacts on the phone these days anyway? This surely isn’t an issue; certainly not a huge selling point IMHO.
