We’ve just spied what looks like an incredible deal: pre-order Pro Evo 2012 for OnLive and you’ll get a free OnLive console thrown in. The PlayPass for Pro Evo 2012 is £29.99, and the OnLive system usually costs £69.99, so if you were planning on grabbing one at some point in the near future it’s, well, a massive no-brainer.
There’s as yet no release date for Pro Evo 2012 on OnLive, but we’re left wondering if FIFA 12 will ever arrive for the system. OnLive already has a deal with FIFA 12 publisher EA for games like Bulletstorm and Saints Row the Third, but FIFA 12 is a bigger kettle of fish entirely, and would likely attract a lot of gamers. When it comes to football games Pro Evo 12 may be a reasonably big name, but FIFA 12 is undoubtedly the king (at least in terms of sales). Getting it would mean OnLive is playing in the big leagues.
Likewise, EA’s new MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic seems another title that could propel OnLive to huge levels of popularity. It’s currently limited to PC and requires a powerful, pricey graphics card – but imagine being able to fire it up on a cheap PC, your work Mac or your living room telly (via the OnLive console). Whether OnLive manages to snag these AAA titles or not, it definitely seems to be moving in the right direction – and this new Pro Evo 2012 offer is likely to prove tempting for any thrifty gamer.
