Google Chrome’s 17th iteration has just launched in public beta, adding a pretty swish new feature that guesses where it is you’re about go on the web.
The new pre-rendering feature in Google Chrome beta is primed to take a stab at the URL you’re typing in and start loading the page before you’re finished. It should add a hint of extra speed to proceedings, so long as you’re visiting a site you frequently do.
This works best for bookmarks, but it should learn as it goes and begin to make educated guesses. You’re not likely to notice a huge difference, given that Chrome is already fairly speedy, but it’s a nice touch.
While the beta releases of Chrome are notorious for having a few bugs in them, but if you want to check it out yourself you can download Google Chrome 17 here. 17 also adds extra security features that try and protect your from some of the web’s more malicious happenings.
