Sonic the hedgehog’s enjoying a bit of renaissance at the moment. With a return to form in the shape of Sonic Generations on console, Sega has obviously deemed it the right time to drop the second part of Sonic 4 into your mobile devices.
Sonic 4: Episode 2 has been confirmed for release at some point this year, although nothing tighter has been announced. Why the enormous wait following the 2010 launch? The spiky blue one has had an overhaul, with new moves, animations and a smarter physics engine.
As the below trailer reveals, Tails will be along for the ride, and the bad guy du jour is likely to be the robotic Sonic first seen in Sonic 2 on the Sega Megadrive (Genesis). When Sonic 4 launches it’ll be available on iOS, Android, Windows Phone handsets as well as on the PSN and XBLA.
