Microsoft Flight Simulator is coming back in the guise of Microsoft Flight. Anyone who fondly remembers whiling away hours trying to master the billion levers and controls inside a Windows 95 rendered Boeing 747 will soon get to play a completely overhauled flight sim for free.
Microsoft Flight, a brand new title in the prestigious franchise, will be free from the get go. “After downloading “Microsoft Flight” for free, players can jump into hours of exciting gameplay on the Big Island of Hawaii,” says Microsoft.
“In addition, players who sign in to their Games for Windows LIVE account automatically receive additional free content,” while “those looking to deepen their experience can purchase and download additional content that adds new aircraft, regions and customization [sic] options.” In other words: it’ll be free for a bit of fun, but after that you’ll be looking at a DLC bonanza.
Or you could try this for something more violent
Microsoft’s building Microsoft Flight in a sort of Pilot Wings style – there’ll be ample opportunity to mindlessly fly about, but if you want goals to aim for there’ll be hundreds of skill challenges and obstacle courses.
