Sony Ericsson has been quick off the mark in saying it’ll be bringing Android Ice Cream Sandwich to its 2011 smartphones, and now it’s gone one further by releasing a ROM of the update.

The ROM, which at the moment supports just the Xperia Arc S, Xperia Neo V and Xperia Ray, is built for developers to test Android 4.0 on their bootloader-unlocked devices in order to help see how apps will run.

We wouldn’t get too excited if you’re not a developer, though. This Android 4.0 ROM is pretty locked down. Due to this, it doesn’t sport any native Google apps such as Maps, and won’t make calls, which pretty much rules it out for use as a full time Android launcher.
