It seems that iTunes Match is available in the UK. Or is it? We’re not entirely sure, and nor is iTunes. We’ve had confirmed reports of the service going live for some users, only to not actually work.
Our tipster, who’s provided us with the screenshots above, says that he was suddenly allowed to sign up to iTunes Match upon checking his iTunes account.
The damage is £21.99 for the year (that’s compared to the US’ comparatively cheaper $24.99), but at the time of writing, payment will get you nothing but a virtual receipt.
Why iTunes will never use subscriptions
Logging into your account is thus far adding the iTunes Match option in the nav bar, but clicking on it or any of the cloud icons next to songs just results in the error message pictured above.
That message asks to sign out and sign in again, which just repeats the whole process. We’ll keep you updated as to how this progresses, but so far it’s not a very seamless launch from a company that prides itself on seamless launches.
