Steve Jobs is set to become a permanent fixture on the streets of Budapest, after the Hungarian company Graphisoft has commissioned a statue of the late Apple CEO to commemorate his life.

The statue, set to stand 7-foot tall and 220kg, will be unveiled on December 21st in Graphisoft park – a space lying between a collection of high-profile tech company skyscrapers.

It’s being hewn by Hungarian sculptor Erno Toth, who’s sticking to every cliched image of Steve Jobs that you’d expect a statue to have: the polo (or turtle, if you’re American) neck jumper, stubble and jeans round-rimmed glasses.

The best bits from the Steve Jobs biography

That look is an image that Jobs purposefully maintained out of an appreciation for uniformity and consistency, and something that in this instance will probably work in his favour.

Since the Apple CEO’s death in October tributes have come from all corners of the globe. This’ll be the first statue of Jobs to be permanently erected in a public space, but we doubt it’ll be the last.
