The Nikon D4, the camera maker’s much-mooted new top-end DSLR has been the subject of a huge leak, with all the key specs for the killer snapper released online. Will this be a camera worth stumping up for? Read on and we’ll tell you all the details.
Alongside an ample 16.2 megapixel sensor, the Nikon D4 (likely to be similar in size to the D3, pictured above) will be able to reel off shots at 11 fps, with a native ISO that can be cranked up to 102,400. You’ll be able to use the on board HDMI port to unleash uncompressed video, while there are also plans for a new 51 point autofocus system.
But it’s the memory slot that, bizarrely, holds most interest. See, the Nikon D4 will use the new XQD Compact Flash standard, which packs in a snappier write speed than regular SD cards.
While the video specs have yet to be leaked, the Nikon D4 will definitely come with Full HD smarts, as well as face detection skills. The camera is expected to be launched at camera trade show PMA in Las Vegas next month.
