Morning. It’s Monday again. We know, we’re sorry. There’s not a lot we can really do about it, but what we can do is offer to fill you in on some of the important tech news that you might have otherwise missed.
Where to start? Oh, how about ‘Start’? Windows 8 is on its way, and you’ll be able to get hold of the beta release early, if you play your cards right. Acer’s launched its new flagship tablet, the Acer Iconia A200. Any good? Have a read and decide for yourself.
In more Android news, HCI launched a brand new Android-powered TV for hospitals. Games, apps and web browsing are yours, as long as you get yourself properly injured. That news was followed shortly by word that BP reckons it can out-do all the high street game stores, following massive CoD sales.
Other gaming news flowed forth from RPG land, as Obsidian studios have signed up to make a South Park RPG. We really, really hope it’s good. Meanwhile, Minecraft’s creator has left the game to focus on a ‘new project’.
Following on from Spotify’s app announcement on Wednesday last week, we took the time to voice our concerns about the uncertainty of relying too heavily on streaming services. Do you agree?
If you had a particularly busy weekend you might have missed our round up of the week’s best concept tech designs, as well as our list of the wider web’s most interesting reads. Have a catch up now that you’ve got a commute to be getting on with.
