Microsoft is beavering away on an iPad version of its ever popular Office suite. With Apple’s tablet still slaying all before it in the tablet wars, it seems Ballmer and co have decided that they want in on the action, delivering what could potentially be a huge money spinner.
The Daily has got the scoop on this new version of Microsoft Office for iPad. While details remain sketchy, it seems that this iPad edition could land well ahead of planned suites for both Mac and PC, due at the end of next year.
Microsoft Office for iPad could provide stiff competition to Apple’s somewhat clunky iWork offering. Plus it would make Apple’s slate more appealing to hardcore Excel and Powerpoint fanatics, who find Numbers and Keynote don’t cut it when it comes to spreadsheets and presentations.
