LG’s Prada Phones have, according to LG at least, enjoyed moderate success in the past among people for whom everything’s gotta have a name on it. Now a third in the handset lineup is on the way, after both companies have teased a 2012 launch.
LG and Prada are both being very cagey about the details of the LG Prada phone 3.0, but we know from the one teaser picture (above) that it should be a handsome beast. Best guess from the design of the back would be that it might be swathed in a similar carbon fibre back to the Motorola RAZR.
Other than the fact that the handset has a rear-facing camera and 3.5mm headphone jack, it remains the subject of speculation. The previous LG Prada phones ran on the former’s outdated Flash UI, but it’d be unwise at this stage to not launch with Android.
If that ends up being the case, some sexy industrial design and a tasty launcher placed over the top could end up making the LG Prada phone the first to make Android genuinely stylish.
5 ways the original LG Prada Phone fell short
“The partnership between Prada and LG has always been characterised by an innovative approach and uncompromised quality of style, design and breakthrough technology,” said Patrizio Bertelli, CEO of PRADA Group. Lets just see if he’s right when it launches in 2012.
