Everybody’s doing it. Tesco has a mobile network, IKEA has a mobile network, and now a grime collective from London has its own mobile network, Boy Better Know Mobile. Wait, what?

For those not acquainted with the machinations of yoof music and grime, Boy Better Know is a record label that’s played host to such famous urban and gritty people as Wiley. It now also runs a Pay As You Go mobile network, Boy Better Know Mobile.

Based on the terms and conditions, it appears to be an MVNO (Mobile virtual network operator) using Three’s network, though a spokeperson for the carrier was unable to confirm this at the time of writing.

At 2p per minute between Boy Better Know (BBK) handsets, the call tariffs aren’t the best we’ve ever seen, but the label’s approach of offering 18GB of data if you top up £50 is a novel idea we haven’t seen before.

And! You also get a travel card wallet with the SIM card in. And! You do get your choice of regular SIM or micro SIM, so that’s nice. Enjoy the video, in which founder JME sets off Siri on his iPhone 4S by accident and doesn’t bother to edit it out.

[Thanks Jen!]
