The annual Xbox 360 dashboard update is a biggie this year, packing in greater Kinect control and a stack of new TV on demand services, and now we know exactly when it’s coming.

Microsoft confirmed that the update, which has been in beta for a limited number of users since 10 November, will roll out to all on 6 December. The update features a new design based on Windows Phone’s Metro UI, and lets you control the Xbox completely via Kinect, share via Facebook and save your games in the cloud.

The Xbox 360 dashboard update will also bring with it an array of new TV channels to compliment Sky Player and Zune. Chief among them is Lovefilm (Which can be controlled using Bing voice search and Kinect), but others include 4oD and possibly even a partnership with the BBC – likely BBC iPlayer.

We’ve contacted Lovefilm to confirm if its service will be available on 6 December with the Xbox 360 dashboard update and will confirm when we hear back.
