The Sony Playstation Vita has many tasty tricks up its sleeve, including 3G connectivity for web browsing and, of course, multiplayer gaming at your nearest bus stop. Today, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has announced that its officially partnered with Vodafone to provide such on-the-fly online gaming, with a cheeky added bonus to 3G PS Vita customers also on the cards.

Vodafone will be pumping 3G-enabled PS Vitas with what it calls “market leading download speeds” and “a reliable ‘anywhere anytime’ dimension to gaming” via a bundled 3G SIM card in the UK, Ireland, Italy, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Australia, New Zealand and the Netherlands.

Anyone stumping up the £280 necessary to meet the 3G Playstation Vita price will also receive a code to download a copy of WipEout 2048 from the Playstation Network. SCEE President and CEO Jim Ryan says that “social gaming and connectivity at the heart of PlayStation Vita,” meaning it’s important to partner with a “market leading network provider, to ensure users have a high quality 3G experience.”

He went on to say: “Partnering with Vodafone will enable PS Vita users in the selected countries to always be connected with their PlayStation life, friends and games, wherever they are.” Will you be snapping up a WiFi or a 3G PS Vita?
