Nintendo’s Mario Kart 7 hits shelves in the UK on December 2nd and the US on December 4th. To celebrate the launch, Ninty’s put its PR gloves on to storm the LA Auto Show with life-sized concept karts.
To make this mad vision (0-60mph in 5 seconds on land, underwater and in the air) become a reality, Nintendo hired none other than West Coast Customs of Pimp My Ride fame. The result of this unlikely pairing? Mario Kart 7 replicas big enough to drive. If they worked.
It’s the kind of bizarre, awkward, seemed-a-good-idea-at-the-time oddity that you’d only really get from the same camp as the Nintendo 3DS. Watch the video for the big reveal:
