The Microsoft Surface table has been dithering around on the more elusive end of the tech spectrum since 2007. Now a new version, first unveiled at CES in January and sporting an entirely new technology, is available to anyone with enough cash through pre-order from Samsung.
Got 50 fingers? The Microsoft Surface 2 table – better known as the Samsung SUR40 – can recognise input from a seriously impressive 50 fingers and objects at once, thanks to new PixelSense technology that ups the sensitivity levels without the need for cameras.
The rest of the Microsoft Surface 2 (Samsung SUR40) table specs are nothing to be sniffed at, either: The 40-inch screen is run by an Athlon X2 Dual-core processor and AMD HD6750M graphics chip, with 4GB of RAM. Powerful, then, but not as bulky as previous models.
The Samsung SUR40 Microsoft Surface 2 table is in the pre-order stage for 23 countries, including the UK. It’s aimed at businesses like the original Surface, but there’s nothing to stop you from ordering one yourself if you feel the need to jazz up the kitchen. The Microsoft Surface 2 table price is set at a wallet-worrying £7,499 plus VAT ($8,400).
