With Asus already unleashing its quad-core Eee Pad Transformer Prime, it’s no surprise that big rival Acer is all set to show off a similarly specced slate. And while its new Acer Iconia 700 tablet isn’t official yet, the PC giant has managed to let slip details of the device via its own servers.
The next-gen tablet will come with an NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor under the hood, matching the processor in the Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime. While the screen size hasn’t been revealed, the leak does show that it’ll be Full 1080p HD, meaning it should be perfect for streaming and watching movies.
As well as a Wi-Fi-only Iconia A700, Acer is also plotting a 3G-toting A701, with other specs expected to remain the same. With a 2012 launch date, these slates should both come with Android Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box. Both will mist likely replace the Acer Iconia 500/501 (pictured above).
