If you don’t own a pair of Beats by Dr Dre, you’ll at least be aware of them sitting on the heads or round the necks of low level Premier League footballers heading into stadia, or X Factor wannabes desperate to get close to Dre himself. Hence makers Monster have decided to out a new ‘Executive’ pair, with more muted design, but the same audio nous.
Ditching the plastic design and bright red trim of the original Beats, the Beats Executive tote a brushed metal finish, with a leather headband for added comfort. There’s noise cancellation, as with the other cans in the Beat lineup, with a rechargeable battery included so you can always have this function switched on.
The Beats Executive automatically shut down when you stop listening to tunes too, conserving power. Sound quality promises to be every bit as deep and bassy as standard Beats too.
Sadly, pricing and release details are to be confirmed. But either way, these headphones at least mean you can have the Beats experience without looking like a tedious wannabe strutting off the team bus on match day.
