It’s been a while since we heard chatter about Apple rejigging the screen sizes of its iPhone and iPad. But a new rumour has emerged from Korea suggesting that LG is beavering away on Apple’s behalf on panels for a 4-inch iPhone and 7.35-inch iPad.Want to know what this means for next year’s Apple lineup? Read on and find out.

Despite Steve Jobs describing 7-inch tablets as “dead on arrival” and the failure of a 4-inch screen to land on the iPhone 4S, an unnamed LG executive has told The Korea Times that his company is hard at work delivering displays of this size to Apple.

He said the iPhone 5 will have a 4-inch screen, which certainly fits into wider gossip about Apple’s next-gen blower. The 7.35-inch screen iPad is more interesting, especially in light of Jobs’ comments. Now Tim Cook is in charge though, could Cupertino have a change of heart?

The chances of a smaller iPad are surely slim, but what do you think? Should Apple unleash a bigger iPhone and a pared down iPad? Let us know in the comments now.

If Apple do introduce a 7″ iPad let’s hope Samsung sue them for blatant copying of the Galaxy Tab!

Why would they go to the expense of designing and tooling up for  new kit when they can hardly keep up with demand?  Rumors smumors..

I would buy a 7.35 ipad if the price and memory is right, 32gb should be the min size and no more than £300
