We showed your our favourite iOS 5 secrets at launch of the iPhone 4S last month, but this week, clever hackers have found two incredible new features lurking within the code that can be turned on with a bit of jiggery pokery. And the best thing? No iPhone jailbreak required. Read on to find out how you can power up your iPhone’s camera and keyboard right now.

Juicy nuggets about upcoming gizmos often turn up within the code for iOS, but awesome new features that can be turned on with comparative ease? Not so much. But here they are, and power users will definitely want to turn these on rather than wait around for Apple to make them official in a future update. Let’s walk you through them:

Panorama shots
Get some Sony style epic vistas with this clever iOS 5 secret. All you need to do is backup your iPhone, then change a line of code using a piece of software called iBackUpBot. Restore, and presto, you’ve got super wide landscape shots on your camera ready to go. This should work on any iOS 5 device with a gyroscope: that’s everything but the iPhone 3GS. RedmondPie has the full walkthrough.

Autocorrect
The iPhone-Android flame war is unlikely to die down, but we do prefer Android’s ability to switch keyboards, and suggest words and punctuation for you on the fly. This little iOS 5 secret allows you to add the same thing to your iPhone keyboard: using the same software, you can now simply type, and watch as the most likely words are whittled down above the keys. At last! 9to5Mac has the step by step guide.
