Siri on the iPhone 4S has everyone talking about voice control. Android already offers fairly sturdy voice control baked into the OS, but what about BlackBerry owners? We know you’ve not had the best of times lately, what with endless outages and lacklustre software upgrades, but we’ve got some good news for you: as part of RIM’s Thank You Gift program, the $19.99 (£12.50) BlackBerry app is now completely free.

Head on through to the BlackBerry App World and anytime between now and the end of the year, you can nab the Siri rival for free. Vlingo has been available for some years now, but if the price has put you off, it’s well worth checking out: you can send text messages and emails hands free and even get navigation directions and update Facebook and Twitter, which Siri can’t do in the UK. It’s also free on the Android Market.

Check out the video below to see it in action, then hop on through to the BlackBerry App World to claim your free download.

Ulitmate Siri hacks

Anything has to be better than the god-awful Blackberry standard “Say a command” ..
“Call Mark”.”Did you say call Dan?”  No I did not, for f***sake.

Bit ridiculous that vlingo was charging £20 on BlackBerry and free on Android. At least it’s free now!

LOL, Blackberry owners are more idiotic that I originally thought.  Not only did they buy a phone that has a centralized messaging system (had they not heard of email?) they also think they are getting a deal on Vlingo, when it’s already free on Android…

    Suckers.
