Disappointed that Apple’s slimline redesign of the MacBook Pro didn’t materialise last week as part of the updates to its top-end laptop range? Well, fret not. Because new information has leaked out regarding a super slim 15-inch Apple laptop, that could well bring together the MacBook Pro’s grunt with the MacBook Air’s looks.
The news comes from Macotakara, which says it’s spoken to an “Asian source”, who says that Apple’s development of the ultra thin lappie is done and that it’s edging very close towards production.
Now, those guys call it a 15-inch MacBook Air, But that doesn’t tally with previous insider gossip, which claims that a super slim MacBook Pro is in the works. Other sources have previously claimed the device will have the same processor speeds and internal smarts as a Pro, perhaps ditching the optical drive like the MacBook Air.
Either way, it seems the MacBook Pro is in for a big shake up in 2012. The current design is still killer, but is approaching the point where it’s starting to fill a tad old. What will Jony Ive’s new design hold? Hopefully something along the same lines as the stunning Air.
