The iPhone 4S is seemingly struggling with some serious battery issues, with a string of users saying their brand new blower is losing power fast. Fortunately, though, the problem seems to have been pinned down, with that notorious battery batterer, location services, apparently the cause. Read on to find out how you can solve your iPhone 4S’s battery woes before Apple releases an appropriate iOS 5 fix.
The Guardian suggests that the ‘setting time zone’ function is to blame for the iPhone 4S’s battery drain. Word is that when it’s switched on, the feature is constantly looking for the phone’s new global location, even when users haven’t moved through different time zones.
A purple arrow appears next to the toggle to set the feature within the location services menu when it’s been used in the past 24 hours, backing up users claims that this is causing the problem.
Switching the function off does apparently improve the iPhone 4S’s battery. But you can bet that with news of this niggle starting to spread, Cupertino will be looking to rush out an update and ensure this problem is solved, stat.
