Android Ice Cream Sandwich is currently only officially available on the imminent Samsung Galaxy Prime. But crafty developers have already found a way to get the new version of Google’s best-selling OS onto last year’s Google Nexus S. Read on to find out just how you can load your handset up with the newest version of Android.
The chaps at XDA developers have managed to get Ice Cream Sandwich working on 3G and 4G versions of the Google Nexus S. The devs who’ve beavered away on the project say that everything is working, although there are bugs when using Bluetooth, NFC and Panorama Mode.
Those who fancy trying out this update ahead of Google’s official release can hit up the XDA developers blog to download it now. Be warned though that this is only something those who know what they’re doing should attempt.
The Big G has said Nexus S owners will be getting Ice Cream Sandwich through official channels ‘in weeks’. But at least now you can try it early if that seems like too long a wait.
