After an iPhone 4S but not sure which network to side with? Looks like Vodafone has the best hand in this latest round of iPhone pricing poker: it’s dropped its prices across the board for the eagerly awaited model before it even goes on sale.
Vodafone has dropped the upfront price of the iPhone 4S 16GB on four of six 24-month tariffs, with prices now starting at £239 on a £26 per month contract, a saving of £120 on the original iPhone 4S pre-order price. The iPhone 4S 32GB starts at £359 (down £80) and the 64GB at £449 (down £70): you can see all the changes here.
At the same time, Vodafone has dropped the tempting £59 credit on your November bill it was offering, but that still means an effective price drop of as much as £60, perhaps triggered by O2 and Three’s late price tariff announcements, or an unexpected demand for shorter term 12 or 18 month contracts.
Ordered an iPhone 4S on Vodafone early? Not to worry: Vodafone says that if this price changes effectively leaves you out of pocket (IE the upfront cost difference is greater than £59), it’ll be getting in touch to offer you the cheaper deal.
An intriguing and early start to the iPhone 4S price wars: fingers crossed rival networks follow suit.
