One area where Android decidedly lags behind iPhone is with high quality movie editing. There’s no iMovie, no Splice, no Vimeo app. Except now there is: enter Video Trimmer, a new video editor from Sony, of all companies.

While we’d like to see Sony spend more time getting the PlayStation Suite on to phones already, we’re still intrigued by Sony Digital Network Applications’ new Video Trimmer. For £1.85, this little app lets you trim, cut and polish your clip, and even tells you the file size and service upload limit so you don’t go over.

It’s a little bit like the crude video editor on board the HTC Sensation, but it’s not exclusive to on brand of phone: whether you’re using a Sony Ericsson or a Samsung with Android 2.1 and up, this should run just fine. Check it out in action in the clip below and let us know how you get on.

Errm, all Honeycomb tablets come with Movie Studio.

Another day, another Electric Pig EPIC FAIL in their reporting quality…   Perhaps one day they might actually report facts rather than fiction.

I guess that the VidTrimmer does exactly the same, even lets you reencode. For free, or for little money for th PRO :)
