About time. While BBC iPlayer has been available on the iPhone since forever, terrestrial rival Channel 4 has been taking its sweet time about things. A 4oD Catch Up app arrived for the iPad in May, and now at long last, a version has hit the App Store for iPhone and iPod touch (iOS 4 and up). It’s free, and does exactly what it says on the tin, with a search function and smooth video playback, though it’s Wi-Fi only.

4oD does not yet offer an Android app, but the desktop service runs on Google phones with Adobe Flash 10.3 support. Let us know how you get on in the comments – are all your favourite shows there?

Doesn’t work on my Android phone. With Android having 48% market share and iPhone only 19%, don’t you think Android should be the priority for an App?

It’s Flash based and won’t open! The 4OD content on YouTube wasn’t also available as H.264 for mobile last time I tried.
