Over a year since Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy Tactics would hit the iPhone, it’s actually arrive. Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions is a port from the PSP title and is a pretty substantial download at 457MB. It’s now in the App Store for £10.99, which is a lot more than most iPhone games but probably fair given the number of hours of gameplay you’ll get from it.

Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions is optimised for the iPhone and iPod touch right now but Square Enix says the iPad version will be out in the autumn. To celebrate the release, it has also slashed the prices of lots of its other titles on the App Store, including Final Fantasy: Chaos Rings. Nintendo 3DS sales fall 50 percent in Japan before price cutThe Nintendo 3DS is having a tough run as of late. Following last week’s announcement that it would lower the price of the handheld, 3DS sales fell to 16,415 units down from 31,826 units the week before. The four days following the announcement represented the greatest decline. Even more surprising is that on August 11 when the price cut goes into effect, sales of the 3DS are expected to decline further.

Record Asus Eee Pad Transformer shipments signal the fall of the Asus Eee PCA new report from industry insider DigiTimes has confirmed our fears that Asus tablet sales are cannibalizing demand for its Eee PC line. Thanks to better than expected Eee Pad Transformer sales, shipments of the slate should reach “700,000-800,000 units in the third quarter and two million units in 2011”. The report also mentions a new quad-core Eee Pad Transformer, alongside the 7-inch Eee Pad MeMO 3D and Padfone due out in the fourth quarter.
