EA has been combing through its back catalogue and could revive at least “a couple” of classic franchises according to EA Labels president Frank Gibeau. While he told CVG that the company needs more than just updated graphics to encourage it to bring a game back from the dead, he dropped a couple of intriguing hints.

Nokia has been slipping Symbian Anna onto new phones for sometime but if you’ve got a Nokia N8, Nokia C7, Nokia C6-01 or Nokia E7 bought before it was minted, today’s your lucky day. Nokia has begun rolling out the Symbian Anna update to those phones via Ovi Suite or as an over-the-air update.

Symbian Anna gives your phone’s UI an overhaul with new icons, split-screen messaging and a portrait mode virtual QWERTY keyboard. Nokia Maps also gets an upgrade with improved search and Facebook, Foursquare and Twitter integration. There’s also upgraded browser which Nokia says will load pages faster and make them easier to navigate. If you’ve got a Nokia C7, the Symbian Anna update also activates its NFC functions.

Remember those Sony PlayStation Vita RAM downgrade rumours that said it would drop from 512MB of RAM to 256MB to fit the predicted £229 price tag? Well, they were wrong. Sony has now confirmed that the PlayStation Vita will ship with 512MB of RAM onboard with a further 128MB of dedicated VRAM.

Sony’s press release also trumpets the PlayStation Vita’s support for Foursquare, Facebook, Twitter and Skype but sadly didn’t include the one bit of information we’re truly craving: a UK release date. While we know the PlayStation Vita will arrive in Japan in time for Christmas, we’re still not expecting to get our hands on it until some time in 2012. Come on Sony, throw us bone here!

Ubisoft has revealed a new Assassin’s Creed: Revelations trailer at Gamescom putting Ezio and Altair in a splitscreen faceoff. The gameplay video shows the pair doiling out death to a dubstep soundtrack and gives a good idea of how fast-paced the finished title will be.

It’s definitely worth a watch while we wait to get our hands on the game with the Assassin’s Creed: Revelations multiplayer beta which opens next month. Assassin’s Creed: Revelations is set to be officially released on November 15.

Three UK relaunches Games Store with help from LiveWire MobileA joint venture between Three UK and LiveWire Mobile has resulted in the relaunch of the carrier’s mobile Games Store. The browser-based portal now includes a series of Android games and applications which it hopes will “attract everyone from casual gamers to hardcore enthusiasts”. The refresh also includes social media integration and a dedicated HD games section.
