Say hello to the Yahoo! PhoneRemember those rumors last year suggesting Yahoo! was hard at at work on an Android smartphone? Well, they’ve materialized in the form of the Sharp Aquos 009SH, better known as the Yahoo Aquos 009SH or Yahoo! Phone. Vodafone is rolling out carrier billing for the Android Market. That means Android owners on the network will be able to charge app purchases to their phone bills and pay for them alongside calls, texts and data. Initially the new feature is only available to Android owners who bough their phone directly from Vodafone through its online or retail stores.

Billing has always been one of the biggest Android Market bugbears thanks to the eccentricities of Google Checkout. Vodafone is the first European carrier to launch operator billing but Google is said to be negotiating deals with other networks. Click the headline and head to the comments to tell us: will carrier billing make you buy more Android apps from the Android Market?

Categories: Apps & Software    Tags: , , , , , , ,

Id Software has used the Facebook Like button for good. It promised to make Rage and Rage HD free if it reached 100,000 Likes on its Facebook page and it’s done just that. For the next week, you can grab the game for free from the iTunes App Store.

That’s a great deal as the on-rails shooter set at a mutant-hunting gameshow is still one of the best iPhone games out there and has had some nice updates since we first raved about it back in November last year. If you’ve got an iPhone 4, the original iPad or the iPad 2, grab Rage HD to enjoy high quality mutant mauling.

For the last couple of days, I’ve been testing the HP Pre 3, putting it through the usual rigorous treadmill of testing we do here. Then last night, HP canned the platform it runs, webOS, essentially pulling the plug on a phone that was barely on sale: for while I’ve always said you should never buy a phone based on what it might do in the future, there’s no point buying a smartphone with no future.

Click the link and a new window opens allowing you to choose which Google+ Circles you want to share the clip with. In the case of the classic Baby Monkey (Going Backwards Of A Pig), we chose all of them.
