Google has finally made a major move to bring Android apps to Google TV, something it’s been teasing since it first unveiled the platfom.

A major Google TV overhaul is reportedly in the works and a preview version of the Google TV plug-in for the Android SDK has finally made it into the wild. That’s a big deal because it’ll allow Android developers to start customising their apps for the big screen. Google says the number of apps available on the TV will be small to start with but the development makes us hopeful that we might actually see a more developed Google TV make it here.

HTC is hitting London next week to show off future devices and Windows Phone will be top of the agenda, according to BGR. It claims to have heard from a little birdie within HTC headquarters that two Windows Phone Mango devices will make their debut on September 1.

Sadly there’s not a lot of new details to feast on. The source simply says the HTC Eternity (which was leaked last month) will have a 3.7in screen while the HTC Omega (which also popped up in July) will sport a 4.5in display.

Given that extensive specs for both devices have been leaked (hit the links above for our previous coverage), it certainly makes sense for them to appear next week. Rest assured we’ll be there to get our hands on whatever future HTC phones the firm feels like revealing.

Apple will deliver the iPhone 5 with support for both CDMA and GSM networks according to a new report which revives rumours of a world phone in the works. Techcrunch claims to have got hold of app logs which show an unidentified device running iOS 5 and sporting the network codes for both Verizon and AT&T.

Building a global iPhone 5 would be big news for US Apple fans who currently have to choose between AT&T and struggling when travelling abroad with the Verizon iPhone. A dual-mode iPhone 5 would allow the device to roam between networks effortlessly and allow Apple to stop producing two slightly different models. Verizon’s CFO seemed to reveal that an iPhone 5 world phone was on the way back in April but hopefully we’ll find out for sure at a September iPhone launch.
