Sony has gone all official with its Android Honeycomb tablet line up. The clamshell S2 is now the Tablet P and the wedge-style S1 is the Table S. Odd names, we know, but now that we have an official announcement we can finally lay the rumors and speculation to rest. Let’s dive in, shall we?
The Sony Tablet S packs a 9.4-inch touchscreen display, Tegra 2 mobile processor, weighs 1.33lbs and includes built-in Wi-Fi. The Sony Tablet P also features a Tegra 2 processor, but features dual 5.5-inch displays and weighs 0.83lbs. The major difference is that the Tablet P includes both Wi-Fi connectivity and support for AT&T’s 4G network. Both models feature front and rear facing cameras, SD card slots and micro USB interfaces.
The Sony Tablet S is available for pre-sale today in either 16GB or 32GB and will be sold for $499 and $599 respectively. The Sony Tablet P will arrive later this year on AT&T.
