Ah, what would the internet be without tantalizing rumors and smartphone mock ups. Today, a user from the daily mobile forums has posted an image which he believes is the Nokia 900, a blue-chip Windows Phone due out in early 2012. The user claims to have sourced the image from a ‘reliable source’, but these specs sound like a fairy tale if you ask us. Introducing, the Nokia 900.
First up, the display. Measuring 4-inches, this 720p resolution AMOLED display is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass oleophobic screen. A dual-core 1.5 GHz processor powers the phone, alongside a dedicated graphics adapter. A 12-megapixel AF Carl Zeiss camera F2.8/28 with a dedicated shutter key and front-facing VGA camera round out the optics. There’s 32GB of internal memory and a microSD card slot which supports another 32GB. A 1600 mAh battery will keep the Nokia 900 running all day and when released, the 900 will be priced at 500EUR before taxes and subsidies.
The poster says that the Nokia 900 is code named Hydra, following in the naming scheme of the Sea Ray. If legit, the Nokia 900 will be released in the first quarter of 2011. So you tell us — fact or fiction?
