This weekend new iPhone replacement parts surfaced. The parts in question allegedly belong to the iPhone 5. With a release expected in early October, we’re looking at a fifth generation iPhone with a slightly more efficient battery and a single, not dual, LED flash. Here’s the latest on the Apple iPhone 5.
Last week we caught our first glimpse into the world of iPhone 5 replacement parts when Chinese reseller, Truesupplier, leaked white and black headphone jacks. TVC-Mall followed by listing an iPhone 5 front-facing camera module and battery. Today we have secondary confirmation of battery (part number 616-0580) and new details on the rear-camera module.
Our friends at iPatchiPods received the same iPhone 5 replacement battery as TVC-Mall, DVT_B3 (Design Verification Test, Beta 3). The battery once again confirms an efficiency of 5.3Whr (up from 5.25Whr) and carries the same 616-0580 part number.
The rear-camera module also looks closer to the original, potentially quashing claims of a moved flash. This also puts an end to the rumors that Apple would switch from a single to dual LED flash in the next iPhone. Unfortunately one detail missing from the leak was whether this was an eight megapixel sensor.
So far it’s not looking promising that we’ll see a major overhaul in the iPhone 5 this year. Anyone want to lay out predictions over which rumored upgrades will actually stick come announcement time next month?
