Asus Eee Pad Slider moves one step closer to launch, landing page now live! The first Android Honeycomb tablet with a built-in hardware slide-out QWERTY keyboard is inching closer to its release. This morning, Acer launched a landing page for its Eee Pad Slider SL101 with a brief device summary and an accompanying photo gallery. The summary lists Android 3.1 Honeycomb, but seeing as the Transformer just landed 3.2, we’ve got our fingers crossed the Slider will ship with the latest build.

Just like its predecessor, the Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF101, the Slider is powered by a dual-core 1 GHz Tegra 2 processor. The display delivers ultra-wide 178 degree viewing angles thanks to its IPS panel which is protected by Gorilla glass. There’s one less USB port and the SD slot has been replaced by a microSD card reader. Polaris Office comes pre-loaded and both tablets have access to one year of unlimited Asus WebStorage.

Now, when will Asus let the cat out of the bag and give us a release date? Yesterday we heard rumors that September would be the big day, but there’s been no official word from Asus thus far. Hopefully we have something more concrete later this week.
