Not sure whether you’re ready to commit to an Android or Windows 7 tablet? The ViewSonic ViewPad 10pro might be the solution. As the world’s first 10.1-inch tablet to offer a “true dual Windows and Android OS experience”, the ViewPad 10pro earns its stripes thanks to the new Intel Atom Z670 processor. Clocked at 1.5 GHz, the new chip minimizes power consumption while enabled smaller and thinner product designs.
In case the slate looks familiar — yes, this is the same device we handled at MWC 2011. At the helm of the ViewPad 10pro is a 1024×600 resolution 10.1-inch capacitive multi-touch panel. The slate also features 2GB of integrated memory, 1080p video playback support, a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, microSD card slot with support for up to 32GB cards, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, eight hours of battery life, 16 or 32GB of internal storage and HDMI out for content sharing. Now for the kicker.
The ViewSonic ViewPad 10pro does not run Android Honeycomb — it runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread. However, there are two models to choose from: a Windows 7 professional and Android 2.3 configuration with 32GB of internal storage or a Windows 7 Home Premium and Android 2.3 configuration with 16GB of internal storage. Pricing is set at $699 (£427) and $599 (£364) respectively.
