The last time we heard about Final Fantasy Type-O, it was among a clutch of Final Fantasy titles with mysterious English phrases mixed into their promo material. Now a video trailer for the PSP title has been released and it’s five minutes of frenetic action to feast your eyes on.

While the dialogue in the Final Fantasy Type-O trailer is all in Japanese, it’s still well worth a watch for any Final Fantasy fan with a good look at the game’s real time battle system and all the usual Square Enix character types on show. Suped-up iPhone voice controls have been strongly rumoured ever since Apple snapped up Siri, a voice-controlled assistant app with more than a smidgeon of artificial intelligence, in April 2010.

Now those whispers have got a little more solid with a leak that suggests Apple is planning to bake Siri and voice-recognition smarts from Nuance into an iOS 5 feature called Assistant. It looks like the iPhone 5 could put some PAs out of a job…

Sony has slipped out a new compact camera to tempt up this Monday morning. It claims the Sony CyberShot TX55 will be the thinnest compact in town when it arrives later this summer but there’s a lot more to the seductive little snapper than its slight 12.2mm thickness.

iPad 3 Retina display confirmed by LG: quadruple iPad 2 pixel count incoming!Ready to give that iPad 2 a major dose of resolution goodness? According to the CEO of LG’s Display unit, the company’s Retina display “has been used in iPhones and iPads”. Since we don’t recall sporting a Retina display on either the first or second generation iPad, this can mean only one thing: Retina displays for the iPad 3.

This is not the first time we’ve heard that Retina displays would be gracing the face of the third generation iPad. In fact, DigiTimes, Korea Times and Daring Fireball’s John Gruber have independently confirmed the bump in resolution. The difference today is that we have the display’s creator, LG, stepping up to the plate to corroborate these reports.

Samsung Galaxy 3D to battle EVO 3D and Optimus 3D in late 2011It appears Samsung will be taking its smartphone talents to the third dimension later this year. We don’t expect anywhere near the uproar Lebron received when he headed to South Beach, unless of course it concerns the name. According to a report on Korean website ETNews, the company has tentatively named its 3D handset, the Galaxy 3D.
