It’s been a big week for Amazon Android tablet rumours with reports yesterday that we’ll see the first model in October. Now whispers are reaching us from the Far East that Foxconn is in the frame to build Amazon’s second Android tablet.

While the manufacturer is best known for its deals building Apple hardware including the iPad 2 and iPhone 4, it also said to be on course to pump out 12 million units of the Amazon Kindle this year…

It was one of the biggest titles announced during the Nintendo 3DS launch back at E3 2010 but it Assassin’s Creed: Lost Legacy has lived up to its title and been lost for good. In an interview with Joystiq, Darby McDevitt, the lead writer for the forthcoming Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, explains that the concept of the Assassin’s Creed 3DS game now forms the foundation for that title.

He says: “You may have heard of the game ‘Lost Legacy’ for the 3DS. It was announced but kind of morphed into this idea.” So while Ubisoft previously predicted that 3D games would make up 50% of releases by 2012, it doesn’t seem to be making the Nintendo 3DS a priority. Of course, though Assassin’s Creed: Lost Legacy has been canned, that doesn’t mean the company won’t release another handheld adventure in the future.

Though Mac OS X Lion didn’t launch this week as many, including us, had speculated, the first apps with support for the new OS have started to appear in the Mac App Store. Apple put out its call for Mac OS X Lion apps at the beginning of this week.

OS X Daily News discovered popular Mac word game, WordCrasher, had been updated to add Mac OS X Lion-only features including fullscreen mode, Resume and Versions. MacStories also spotted a clutch of other apps hitting the store with new Mac OS X Lion friendly builds.

The consensus is now that Mac OS X Lion should roar into view next week but we’ll reserve judgment until Apple tells us for sure. Find out about all the new features with our Mac OS X Lion guide

While we know that the iPhone 5 can’t really be described as delayed since it’s still an unreleased, unconfirmed product, the latest rumour to emerge from China is still worth taking a look at.

Chinese-language tech site Sohu.com claims problems with putting the A5 chip into a smaller package are behind this year’s longer wait for a new iPhone.

Though the suggestions should be treated with a significant pinch of salt, they once again raise the prospect of an iPhone 4S delivering a minor upgrade on the current model in September with the iPhone 5 not arriving until 2012. Read on for full details on this somewhat surprising new theory…

Sony NEX-7 image leaked: is this the perfect micro four thirds?DSLR purists might snub at the thought of a micro four third camera being perfect, but for those keen on HD video and capturing quality shots without carrying around endless amounts of gear, the M4/3 is a godsend. The Panasonic Lumix GH1, once hacked, set the video bar with 50 Mbps+ AVCHD capture, rightfully earning the title ‘creative hybrid’. The Sony NEX-7 looks to up the ante on the imaging front.

Microsoft expects to sell 100M Windows Phone per yearAs the saying goes, “you’ve got to pay to play.” Nokia has reportedly embraces this philosophy with grand plans of an £80M ad campaign to kick of sales of its Windows Phone devices. Microsoft fully supports the initiative with “dreams and aspirations” of selling 100 million units per year “with that single deal”. For a company whose U.S. market share fell 35 percent since the launch of Windows Phone in November, 100 million units per year sounds a tad high or is it?
