Microsoft revealed that Windows Phone 7 Mango has made its way to manufacturers earlier this week, now the world’s first phone running the update has been extensively detailed on video. The clip offers the best look at Windows Phone 7 Mango so far including deeper Twitter integration and music streaming from SkyDrive (potentially giving Windows Phone devices an iCloud alternative).

We’re hoping that the Windows Phone 7 Mango devices we get in the West will be as great to look at as the IS12T. It’ll arrive in Japan in September with a 13.2MP camera, 32GB of memory, DLNA support, Xbox Live connectivity and a choice of three colours (yellow, black and pink). We’re pinning out hopes on the Nokia Windows Phone 7 partnership and those rumours of a Samsung Galaxy S2 with Windows Phone 7 onboard.

    I wonder if the “lack of apps” will be reported by the media in the same way Android was?  Or if Microsoft’s money will ensure that the media conveniently overlook it…

      Its not really overlooked its been used since day one to try and make everyone think windows phone is some how less then the other 2 guys as fi angry birds makes a platform! What would be more instresting to me is for everyone to quit taking pot shots at MS and realize that none of the new smartphone platforms were worth a flip for their first year (others longer). Apple had no market for quit some time and was deployed with outdated edge technology only so apple could immediately sell you there upgraded 3g model. Android was crap until froyo build which came out when oh yeah like 3 months before windows phone no a huge lead there. out of the thousands of apps that you think make your platform better then this how many of them are actually usefull? do you really need 1000 fart apps  3000 flashlight apps or the god load of malware apps in the android market. MS spending tons of money to convince the media to say something positive? where have you been the last decade when has MS ever had a succefull marketing campaign personally I think that is the biggest reason they are precieved to be so far behind or not with the program THEY ABSOLUTELY SUCK AT MARKETING but thats pretty much the end of it they stilll make excellent products are very forward leaning (you do know that Ms has been providing just about every service Apple announce in Icloud and herolded as innovative for like 3 years now, say hello to windows live)

        No they actually suck at hardware.  Think of all the really rubbish products out there and Microsoft are usually behind them.
        XBox360.   Total trash.  Worst relability of any consumer product ever, really poor value for the consumer (lock-in pay to play plans), last-gen PS2 hardware like DVD, and expensive gimmicks like Kinect.

        Zune.  Ditto, why would anyone buy one?

        Windows Mobile 7.  Ditto, but they have someone else making the hardware, but it’s got all the hallmarks of a Microsoft cash-in, with Xbox Live on the phone, Microsoft will be banking on getting  addtional money from every one they sell, and will be hoping it drags the Xbox with it (isn’t product tying illegal?)

          first I dont have a XBox 360 so I can’t comment.  However, Zune is class! I used to have a spotify premium account but Zune was cheaper for a better looking interface and it is built directly into my phone.  

          Please explain to me why the WP7 has all the hallmarks of a microsoft cash-in?  They don’t make a lot of money on WP7 devices they make more from Android devices due to patents!  They treat WP7 the same as Bing something they need to do to keep them in the technological game, they both cost a fortune to run but its worth it for their other services.

          WP7 is a breath of fresh air in the phone market I hated my previous android device and there are too many iPhones around, the metro UI is the future people don’t like it cos it says windows and theres no advertising, but i wouldnt change my phone for anything!

        Im confused how the number  one selling console is trash I do own a PS3 also but seriously  you can not call it garbage. yes the dvd drive is not blu ray the only console that has this is sony which is partly  sony that caused this they did not want their competitors to have it this is also why the xbox cost half of a ps3 at launch. microsoft was gambling with toshiba and other on hd-dvd consumers spoke up and blu ray one how is this MS fault or issue do you not think they will adopt this in future iterations? You do understand that they choose the route they did becuase it lowered the cost of entry (if i am not concerned with HD movies then i do not need the 200 addon) and yes i know this is the primary reason blu ray one Sony forced it into every home While MS benifited from being First to market by selling more units Sony benifits from having blu ray adopted. um xbox unreliable well yes they did have a system problem they also extended the warranty 3 years because of it my first 3 PS3 died immediately the last broke 30 days after i just paid to fix it be they put a faulty drive in it and then told me it was another fee to fix it it was actually cheaper for me to trade it into gamestop take the defective hit and go by a new 4th generation ps3 that is more stableyou did catch 4th generation ( the ps3 on market today is more like a neutered cousin of the original ) The only thing wrong with the zune was again lack of marketing and lack of accessories (this is true for an mp3 player that was not and apple product)  there was no other device you could walk into any store and get a charger for but the zune device and service in many ways is the same and better then apple um its windows Phone not windows mobile if you are going to try and flame a product please  say it correctly. yes the xbox live branded games are 1$ more and your point is? with this 1$ i will be getting all the xbox live services. your complaint about MS iam assuming paying for gold ( this leads me to belive your what like 14 and have to ask mom for an allowance) 49$ a year is not bad for making sure that i have a stable network to game on and can interact with my friends in ways that matter to me again I have a PS# and maybe im wrong but their online experience leaves much to be desired many games drop while playing or just have no one playing ever for the most part you can always connect to some one on XBL  personally I view xbox as a better multiplayer and online console and a far better media experience (to be expected from a software company) and PS3 offers a better single player experience and bolstered graphics(one would expect from a hardware company) why would you fault a software company for making software and selling it to the hardware partners Hello there a software company they are trying to make various pieces of hardware some that do well others that dont just like anyone else Product tie-ins illegal seriously what did you just learn about the anti trust case from the 90′s  you must have been a sleep when they actually explained it or did you read one of those yellow law for idiots books? you do realize xbox live is a service and xbox is a product  which is now be comming a media brand to house all their services so includding a service would not be illegal. so why do you not have a problem with facetime only available for ios users hell even their commercials speak to their culture and mind set. at least ms did try to tell you it invented touch screens and smartphones  and then tell you it was magical um my old pocket pc from like 2000 had a touch screen and an app store what like 6 years before apple magically discovered it

        Astroturfers really is that your atempt at cleverness (wow Im sorry).  Again an assumption but i bet you wear a black turtle neck  dont you ? because only an apple lemming would care enough to go to an articale about a windows device and try to flame it with out expecting to be corrected I say this because even the most die hard Android fans simply dont care they already think they one and can not be bothered IOS is begining to feel outdated and is no longer king  so its throwing stones in every direction
