Motorola Droid Bionic launch date rumors: August or September? The Motorola Droid Bionic has seen a long and windy road since its arrival at CES in Las Vegas. As we near seven months since first handling the only smartphone with superhuman strength, we’re now hearing that an August release is out and early September is in. Does Motorola really want to go head-to-head with the iPhone 5?

Apparently Motorola has a bad case of the Pre’s. Palm has become notorious in announcing devices and then taking over six months to launch; the Droid Bionic is now playing the same game. First a delay, then a redesign and now another delay, so what gives?

According to Droid-Life, the display on the Droid Bionic has far less ghosting than that of the Droid X2 or Droid 3. Also, the bump in RAM and noticeably lighter weight compared to Motorola’s current product portfolio took longer than expected.

In any event, regardless of why it has taken Motorola so long to finish the Droid Bionic, September will reportedly play host to Apple’s iPhone 5. The fifth generation iPhone or the Motorola Droid Bionic — how will you decide?

Ive already decided. Galaxy S2. Im no longer waiting for a phone that keeps getting delayed when the Galaxy S2 has proven itself extremely reliable. You dropped the ball, Motorola.

Bionic was only offically delayed once. All other dates were rumors or speculations. At least what was brought out to the public. The said it was delayed until summer. So they have till September 21st to make good on that statement. Most people are more angry the phone isn’t going with what rumors keep saying.

I really hate that motorola is putting me is such a spot. I have patiently waited(more or less) for this bionic. At this point I consider that time an investment. But as time goes on the value of the investment it dropping… along with my patience. I wanted a superphone back in june. not an average phone in september. Especialy for the price that will almost certanly be $250 or more… Sprint has a few good phones… Especially this Evo 3D… It too has 4g, a 4.3″ WITH glasses-free 3D!!!, hdmi out, AND…. a dual-core processor running at 1.2 GHZ!!

Yeah there are a lot of good phones coming out, But the Bionic still might be that super phone you wanted and be better than you expected. The 1 ghz processor on the bionic is what was on the original. No one knows if the new bionic will be the same or faster. Sprint have some good phones, but non of them will be on the Verizon 4G LTE network, which even the single core phones have proven to run faster on than 3G. As for the EVO line. Those are awesome phones! But don’t buy it just for the 3D. My dad has a 3DS and 3D is turned off most the time as after a while it will hurt your eyes. Give you headaches and such. That and with 3D turned on it draws a lot of battery life. That being said, get a phone that has everything you want. If you wait till the newest and best comes out, you will be waiting forever. There will always be a better phone rumored or talked about coming in the future. For me right now Verizon doesn’t have a phone with everything I want yet. 2 things missing. A Dual core 4G phone. That’s what I’m waiting for.

Have fun waiting for that phone to show up here in the states.

That will be the next grip haha. Bionic will launch and still no Galaxy. Then they will wait for the next phone and the next. Always something better coming out to complain about.

What?  There has been a new phone substituted in and it has offically been announced that the Bionic would be released this summer which the first part of September fits into.  Neither Motorola or Verizon said the phone would be released on August 4th.  Speculated dates aren’t confirmed dates.

It amuses me that some many people say oh that’s it I will get the SGSII instead.  Well guess what, you will have to wait for that phone as once again the American carriers have not announced a release date for that phone nor has Apple announced a release date for the iPhone 5.  To me, the best thing that could happen is that all three phones come out in the same month.  I know I will make the correct choice then.

Looks like the under 30 crowd has run out of patience.

Most people waiting seem to want the Bionic out even it was rushed. Id rather have them delay a phone and bring a great product out than rush it and be more problematic. The Galaxy phone isn’t released in the states so those saying they now will wait for that, might even be waiting longer for a phone that may not be 4G LTE or even be on the same
Carrier. Official specs are not out yet for the Bionic, but could teach the impatient a lesson if by some chance the Galaxy S2 is released first and the Bionic later with even better specs and performance as it would be the newer phone. Remember the Bionic that’s soon to be out is not the same phone they showed off last January.

dont forget to throw in the Galaxy S2, i was going to get the bionic had it come out august 4th, now i’m going to wait and see what the iphone 5 and Galaxy S2 have and who knows maybe i’ll wait until october when my contract is up and jump off the verizon ship altogether.  (although since i’m grandfathered into unlimited this is a somewhat empty threat!).
