Panasonic continues to push out new cameras in its Lumix range and the new DMC-FZ48 looks like a cracker. Not only does it have optical zoom that would make a paparazzo jealous, it can capture video at 1080p too.

Like the Lumix G3, Panasonic has bless the Lumix DMC-FZ48 with the ability to capture 1080p video., Unlike the G3, with the FZ-48 you will be able to capture that quality video from way, waaaay over there somewhere thanks to the 24x optical zoom.

The camera’s clever optical sensor can also shoot 3D photos that can be viewed using a compatible 3D TV (which Panasonic will helpfully sell you, of course). You can even take a high quality still image while you are shooting video without having to stop and fiddle with any settings.

You get the usual Lumix filters and effects plus the Intelligent Auto setting that will make things pretty much point & shoot. 24x zoom does sound a bit excessive, but you never know when you might see a minor member of the Royal Family getting up to some mischief during a beach holiday, so it is as well to be prepared.

i find wipeout gets inasanely hard very quickly, two of them are very niche titles, fifa and f1 though popular, not my cuppa and i have origins on ps3, out of the 5 must have games i only really want to play uncharted, not looking like a likely purchase

I already pre-ordered Rayman Origins and I’m getting Fifa with my bundle which I’d like to swap for Uncharted. Can’t wait to go and pick up my PS Vita from Morrisons!!!
