Forget all the iPhone 5 rumours we’ve heard so far, the best indication that the next iPhone will arrive in September has been offered up by Apple itself. During its latest earnings call, Apple CFO Peter Oppenheimer stated that the company is set for an even busier autumn:

As we announced at WWDC, we have a lot going on in the fall with the introduction of iOS 5 and iCloud. We also have a future product transition that we’re not going to talk about today, and these things will impact our September quarter.

That’s as close as you’re going to get to Apple just outright admitting that it’s got the iPhone 5 on the slate and set to unveil at the company’s previously music-themed September shindig. Expect to see even crazier iPhone 5 speculation from now on.
